Annual Meeting – Held in March, our annual meeting is held in conjunction with the GA Cattlemen’s Association annual convention in Perry, GA.  Officers are elected and guest speakers set an invigorating tone for the year.  All GCW members are welcome at all board and general meetings.  We present our annual awards at the Ladies Day Luncheon which is a social highlight of the Convention.  It’s put on in a room above Reeves Arena where you can view the fairgrounds on one side and watch a Saddleseat horse show on the other.

Georgia Junior Beef Futurity – Over the summer at Perry’s Agricenter, Georgia 4-H and FFA host the annual Georgia Junior Beef Futurity.  Exhibitors come from multiple Southeastern states to compete with their steers and heifers.  GCWA provides showmanship awards in order to support youth’s daily efforts, their dedication to improvement and their involvement in the GA cattle industry.  Click here for forms, results, photos and past events.

Cattle Drive for Hunger - In recognition of National Hunger and Homeless Awareness, the GCWA annually gives 10 $100 grants to food pantries or homeless shelters which submit application in August.  The winners are announced in September.  Please share this opportunity with family, friends, and acquaintances, through social media or the old-fashioned word of mouth!  Cattle Drive for Hunger Application

Georgia National Fair – GCWA assists the Georgia Beef Board at the GA National Fair held in October at the Agricenter in Perry. The Beef Story exhibit includes a display of beef by-products and hands-on youth activities.  Over the two weeks, GCWA members help distribute thousands of beef recipes and nutritional information to the general public.  Learn more about the state fair’s Beef Story and other agricultural exhibits here.

Sunbelt Ag. Expo – Each October, Moultrie, GA hosts a premier agricultural trade show demonstrating the latest farming technologies.  With 1200 exhibitors, 300 seminars and more than 80,000 visitors the Sunbelt Ag. Expo is clearly a renowned southeastern event.

Our Georgia Cattlewomen spring into action, taking advantage of the popular 3-day event by creating a consumer-focused display all about beef.  Our members distribute recipes, nutritional information, teacher resources and industry information. While passing out materials, our cattlewomen also fulfill our mission by talking face to face with and answering any and all of their questions they may have about beef.
